Broad tax reform promotes growth
Tax reform|
Urban Bäckström, Director General of the Confederation of
Swedish Enterprise, calls for wide-ranging tax reforms so Sweden can grow
out of its deepest crises since the Second World War at the Confederation’s
annual economic seminar.

Environmental regulation|
The Swedish Environmental Code has 480 paragraphs supplemented by over 4,500
rules and regulations issued by agencies and municipalities. "This is
an unfinished piece of legislation", states Nicklas Skår,
Environmental Law expert at the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, in his
report "Environmental law – How could it be that wrong?".

Businesses lose skills with LAS (Employment Protection Act)
Order of termination rules|
Unions often claim that LAS presents no problems for larger businesses. But a
new survey by the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise shows that the
rules are not flexible. The report shows that rules covering order of
termination present significant problems for larger companies, too.

Environment|
Sweden has significantly reduced environmental emissions since 1970. "To keep
improving the environment, we need more international collaboration and
shorter processing times for companies", reports Inger Strömdahl,
Environmental expert at the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise.
