In the midst of geopolitical turmoil and a backlash against globalisation as such, global trade is stalling and European growth is slow. Many have forgotten that Europe as a whole has gained enormously from being open to trade with the rest of the world. On a societal level, we are all winners of globalisation. Increased real wages, lower consumer prices, improved working conditions, increased employment and specialization through global value chains are just a few of the important gains brought by global economic integration.
Join us for a lively discussion on the role globalisation has played in European prosperity and what we stand to lose if we fail to make the case for open economies and trade.
