Reporting obligations during the transitional period of the carbon border adjustment mechanism

The Confederation of Swedish Enterprise believes that the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) can prove an effective tool in ensuring a level playing field, fighting carbon leakage and helping European industry in continuing its efforts to decarbonise. With only a few months until the CBAM enters into force, businesses are facing difficulties and uncertainties over how to approach implementation. Although the transition period - which starts in October - is a learning phase with no financial implications, companies will still be required to meet a series of highly complex obligations in a very short time period.
